Alex Schneider to present at the 2023 AFA Annual Meeting in New Orleans, USA

At the American Finance Association (AFA) Annual Meeting held from January 6-8, 2023 in New Orleans, LA (U.S.A.), our PhD candidate Alex Schneider (CEFS) will be presenting his recent working paper “BUYOUTS AND PRODUCTIVIY: FIRM-LEVEL EVIDENCE FROM ITALY” co-authored with Sara Boni (Free University of Bolzano-Bozen) during the AFA PhD Student Poster Session. In their study, the authors explore the effect of private equity buyouts on the development of portfolio firm productivity.

The AFA Annual Meeting is a premier event for finance professionals, academics, and students. Held annually in early January, the conference features presentations of research papers, panel discussions, and keynote speeches by prominent figures in the finance industry. The meeting provides a platform for researchers and practitioners to exchange ideas and stay up-to-date on the latest research in finance, as well as to network with colleagues and potential collaborators. With thousands of attendees, the AFA Annual Meeting is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in finance to deepen their knowledge and make valuable connections. It is held jointly with the Allied Social Science Associations (ASSA) Annual Meeting, which includes several other academic associations, such as the American Economic Association, the Association for Social Economics, and the Society for the Advancement of Economic Theory.

The American Finance Association (AFA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the advancement of finance theory and practice through research, education, and publication. The association publishes several academic journals, including the Journal of Finance, one of the most prestigious journals in the field, and holds an annual meeting that attracts thousands of attendees from academia, industry, and government.
