CEFS researcher Stefan Weik joins University of St. Gallen as Assistant Professor


We are happy to share that CEFS researcher Dr. Stefan Weik, who previously served as a Research Assistant and Postdoctoral Researcher at the Chair of Entrepreneurial Finance, will be joining the University of St. Gallen (HSG) School of Finance and the Swiss Finance Institute as an Assistant Professor of Private Markets!

His research, including the paper "Venture Capital and the International Relocation of Startups," co-authored with CEFS directors Prof. Reiner Braun and Prof. Ann-Kristin Achleitner, has already had significant real-world impact. His work has been cited by the European Commission and the German Federal Government and has also been featured in prominent publications like Handelsblatt and WirtschaftsWoche.

Stefan Weik earned his PhD in Finance in 2023 under the supervision of Prof. Ann-Kristin Achleitner and holds both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Technical University of Dresden. In addition to his academic achievements, he has gained practical experience working with equation AG, zeb Consulting, Deloitte, and Deutsche Bank, bridging the gap between academia and industry with practical insights.
