Established in 1971, the World Economic Forum (WEF) has become a leading foundation and think-tank for the development of future shaping ideas, thoughts and agendas. Bringing together leaders of politics, business and society, WEF's Global Future Councils are an interdisciplinary network for knowledge exchange, bringing together more than 700 thought leaders from around the world. As Europe plays a key role in the world's future development, the Regional Future Council on Europe comprises a mixed group of experts from politics, business, international organizations, and civil society. They aim to have a close look at necessary future reforms and will develop a long-term macroeconomic vision for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Prof. Achleitner is a new memeber of this group for the years 2018-2019.
