The May edition of the magazine Venture Capital publishes an article on the acatech study by Prof. Achleitner and Prof. Braun on the need for growth financing options in Germany. The article (in German) shows that young companies in their growth-phase need more German money or we will lose them to other countries. Financing rounds with foreign investors are four times bigger than those with only German investors, Yet, two thirds of those foreign-financed companies are later on sold to foreign countries or get their stock listing in countries outside Germany. As innovation is of great importance for the German ecosystem, new ways of financing need to be established in order to become attractive for these young innovative companies and in order to keep them in Germany.
