Business administration (BWL) has a lot to do right now. The digital revolution will sweep away business models, jobs and entire industries in the coming years if they are not redesigned in good time. The fear of the next financial crisis continues to smoulder. International trade relations are being questioned by populists and nationalists. There should actually be agreement on strengthening business administration and research at the highest possible level and preparing German universities for a business administration of the digital future. But far from it.
