Content of the course:
During this course, students will learn the theoretical background on topics such as
- Global Automotive Production
(Global Automotive Market, Value Networks, Logistics) - Production Systems
(System integration, flexibility and response time, plant structure) - Innovation and Digitalization
(Innovative Automation and Assistance Systems; Smart Data Analytics, Additive Manufacturing, Smart Logistics, Virtual Planning).
Structure of the course:
- Students are expected to write a seminar paper on a contemporary issue in the automotive industry, such as free-trade/trade barriers, tariffs.
- The seminar thesis contains a problem definition, an elaboration on possible solutions to the problem, as well as the derivation of recommendations and an action plan.
- The students present their solution to the CEO of BMW and get valuable feedback.
