THIS COURSE IS TAUGHT IN GERMAN ONLY

Content of the course:

During this course, students will learn the theoretical background on topics such as

  • Global Automotive Production
    (Global Automotive Market, Value Networks, Logistics)
  • Production Systems
    (System integration, flexibility and response time, plant structure)
  • Innovation and Digitalization
    (Innovative Automation and Assistance Systems; Smart Data Analytics, Additive Manufacturing, Smart Logistics, Virtual Planning).

Structure of the course:

  • Students are expected to write a seminar paper on a contemporary issue in the automotive industry, such as free-trade/trade barriers, tariffs.
  • The seminar thesis contains a problem definition, an elaboration on possible solutions to the problem, as well as the derivation of recommendations and an action plan.
  • The students present their solution to the CEO of BMW and get valuable feedback.
