Content of the course:
Considering an increasing amount of data, complexity and fast-paced economy, decisions become more and more dependent on information technology. Those companies that know how to provide their decision makers with high-quality information according to their needs generate important competitive advantages. The course "Business Intelligence und Reporting" takes up the problem described. In an applied way the basics of analytical information systems will be taught. This includes the beginning of data work in companies, with topics such as data storage and preparation, as well as the final graphical preparation in dashboards or management reports.
In addition, the knowledge imparted is used to build a fundament for future trends in the field of data work - such as Big Data, Advanced Analytics or Industry 4.0. In addition to theoretical content, automated case studies and hands-on exercises are integrated into the online course. This is intended to give participants the opportunity to check their own learning success and to apply the theoretical content in a practice-oriented way using applicable open source software (Pentaho BI-Suite).
