General Information
In general, the Chair of Entrepreneurial Finance permits the transfer of courses successfully completed at other universities. The recognition of such courses is, however, subject to specific regulations that must be observed to ensure acceptance. As the options for recognition vary between study programs, students are required to consult the respective program-specific document available under “Credit Transfer” in the download section.
Procedure
Prerequisites
For academic achievements to be recognized, there must be no significant differences in the acquired competencies compared to those obtained through the corresponding course at another academic institution. This means that the course must be equivalent in content, learning outcomes, and academic level.
Please note:
The attended course must
- be largely equivalent in course content and learning objectives, and
- comprise at least the same workload in credits and hours as the course for which recognition is requested.
Credit Recognition for TUM School of Management Students
If you are enrolled at the TUM School of Management and would like to apply for credit recognition for a course offered by our chair, please use the digital platform PIM, the platform for international credit recognition.
PIM provides a fully digital process for all types of recognition, including credits from previous studies or from a stay abroad.
Instructions and guidance on how to submit your application can be found on the TUM School of Management website in the Download Center, along with detailed information about the general recognition procedure and the relevant requirements.
Credit Recognition for Students from Other TUM Schools
For students from other TUM Schools, the recognition of courses taken abroad is centrally organized by the TUM School of Management. Each study program offers specific options for recognizing international modules.
Please refer to the documents for your study program. You need to check whether the course you plan to complete at a university abroad is already listed in the central credit transfer database.
Important:
Only if the course you wish to transfer is not listed in the database and our department needs to evaluate whether it is eligible for recognition, you must submit the confirmation of course equivalivalence of an international module together with the other required documents.
To assess equivalence, we require the following information:
- Course content, learning objectives, and course materials (for example textbooks)
- Workload and credits, including hours per week and the total number of weeks
- Information on the course structure
All documents should be sent to Karin Papavlassopoulos (karin.papavlassopoulos(at)tum.de)
