Guest lecture

What is a guest lecture?

It is important to our chair to provide courses that not only cover theoretical knowledge, but also include practical applications. In many cases, practical insights reveal challenges and limitations of theoretical models and approaches. In addition, examples from practice often show particularly well why, how and to what extent topics discussed during the course have practical relevance in the day-to-day business of many companies.

In order to be able to convey this practical perspective in the best way possible and in a highly topical manner, the Chair of Corporate Management regularly welcomes guest lecturers from companies in its courses, thus enabling students to gain insights into the business world at an early stage.

Key facts at a glance

  • Time frame can be chosen as desired (usually 45 minutes presentation, 15 minutes Q&A)
  • Broad range of topics: e.g. internationalization, succession of family firms, HR topics, strategy and corporate management
  • Personnel marketing for students is welcomed (internship, working student activity, thesis)

In addition, there is also the possibility to offer a course as a visiting lecturer for a full semester, in which the chair only takes a supporting role.

If you are interested in such a cooperation with the chair, please do not hesitate to contact us (office.cm@mgt.tum.de).
